Steve Bowling Contracting specialises in bridge building, bridge maintenance and repairs. We have a lot of experience in foot bridges, road bridges, farm bridges and wharf construction. These bridges are typically constructed from either reinforced concrete, structural steel or timber or any combination of the three. Steve Bowling Contracting is one of the few Northland based companies qualified for bridge construction on our state highways.
We have experience in replacement and repair of bridge structural components including abutments, beams, the bridge deck, bridge joints and any handrails or guardrails. We are also able to undertake structural strengthening of bridges where loading requirements have increased, or existing elements have deteriorated.
Recent evidence of our specialist bridge construction expertise is demonstrated in the Waiarohia Footbridge (Publicly named Kotuitui Whitinga) as part of the Hatea Loop Walkway. Steve Bowling Contracting is extremely proud have been selected as the head contractor of this project ahead of a number of multinational companies, based on their design and attributes submitted. The design, engineering and construction of this bridge was completed using only local companies and we were awarded the National Construction Excellence award for Projects between $1m and $5m in value at the Civil Contractors New Zealand annual awards.
