NPM Construction worked with the Reyburn Medical Centre developer to re-purpose an existing car dealership showroom and garage and workshop into a full functioning medical centre. The project involved renovation and upgrade of two existing aged commercial buildings and new build construction to link these buildings into one facility.
The floor area of the final building was 1300m2 consisting of a number of different tenancies including a medical centre, pharmacy, café, dentist, x-ray imaging and a staff health facility. Works included external pavements and landscaping.
NPM Construction were able to assist the client with value engineering in the early stages of planning. Experience that we have gained on previous projects, meant we were able to offer the client cost saving ideas and also alternate methodologies which assisted with the tight timeframes.
The time from the award of the contract to the commencement of the project was short so it was a challenge to co-ordinate materials, sub-contractors and plant to make sure we could meet the strict programme. We were able to propose an alternative method of getting pre-nailed frames for the internal walls which accelerated the lead time and allowed us to achieve the deadlines with ease.
A number of areas of asbestos were identified on the project and removal was undertaken by NPM in accordance with the Health and Safety at Work (Asbestos) Regulations 2016.
The client was extremely pleased with the high quality finish and the way that the whole project was managed and communicated.
