Paul Boyd – General Manager
Paul is the General Manager of NPM Construction and NPM Remediation and also a director of each company, he oversees all daily operations, planning and management. He began his career in the construction industry in 1983. Paul has broad construction experience including high-rise, fitout, industrial maintenance and insurance projects. Paul is an A class and B class qualified asbestos removalist and has completed training as an asbestos surveyor. Paul was employed by NPM as a carpenter in 2004 and has progressed through the company to his current position. Paul has worked on large projects such as the BNZ towers, Quay West Towers in Auckland, The NZ Stock Exchange Building and Sun Alliance Building. Paul has gained respect throughout his working career and his knowledge of all aspects of construction, from hands on with the tools to site supervision and financial management has given him a wealth of knowledge that can be called on at any time. Paul likes to build a strong team around him and values his relationships with his staff and clients.
Paul Cook – Operations Manager
Paul recently joined the team this year to help bolster the management of the team, adding his impressive leadership experience to our repertoire.
Prior to working with us, he held the role of department manager of building compliance at Whangarei District Council (WDC) and the Far North District Council (FNDC) for approximately 14 years years. Paul also has decades of experience as a carpenter in the residential and commercial building sector prior to that. This gives him key knowledge of construction and deconstruction as well as the policy and procedures understanding accompanying these processes. He holds two diplomas in building surveying and quantity surveying. Paul is a committed operations manager who helps guide NPM Remediation through crucial decision making and planning.
Connor Boyd – Operations Coordinator
Connor began working with NPM Remediation initially as an asbestos removalist, proving his skill and competency over the years by moving up to removal supervisor and finally becoming a key part of worker coordination and project management in the administration team. Connor is the current company health and safety representative.
He is an A class and B class qualified removal supervisor. Having started out work at the coalface, Connor has significant experience and a keen eye for asbestos removal that benefits the managerial team greatly. He is also proficient in ensuring strong team coordination among our removalists, having worked alongside many of them in the past.
William Boyd – Operations Assistant
William has been a part of NPM Remediation since late last year, joining the team not long after finishing his university study. Having finished his BA, William has a major in communications and has been committed to ensuring proper documentation within the administration team office.
He is often tasked with peer reviewing paperwork (our asbestos control and removal plans for example) and ensuring the upkeep of our filing system. Recently he has undergone preliminary health & safety training and has been collaborating with others in establishing safe work practices for our remediation team. William is also a past student from Pompallier Catholic College.
Craig Lyford – Remediation Supervisor
Craig is an A Class and B Class qualified asbestos removal supervisor. Craig has input into the allocation of NPM Remediations resources on a daily basis along with being the Supervisor on our major projects. Craig is a trade qualified carpenter so understands buildings and deconstruction. Due to his carpentry background Craig is able to identify where building methodologies and claddings differ which is a common issue with asbestos as additions and renovations mean that there are different parts of a building constructed in different eras of time and the materials used.
Alex Boyd – Remediation Supervisor
Alex is an A Class and B Class qualified asbestos removal supervisor as well as a trade qualified carpenter. Alex acts in Supervisor role on projects along with undertaking some tendering and development of ARCPs (asbestos control and removal plans) for our projects. Alex’s trade background and significant asbestos experience is valuable to developing methodologies, quotations and ultimately getting the job completed safely and efficiently on site.
